emerging market experience and a profound understanding of financial markets.
Evgenij Iorich, Director
Evgenij has a broad experience in emerging markets including fixed income products, equities and structured products. He has been working on
numerous public and private transactions with the products linked to emerging markets for over nine years.
Evgenij has also an extensive experience in the natural resources sector and is currently a Vice President of Pala Investments Limited.
His commodity experience extends across a broad range of bulk commodities, as well as precious and base metals, and oil and gas. He is currently a Director of Serinus Energy (TSX:SEN) and Peninsula Energy (ASX:PEN).
Prior to joining Pala in 2006, Evgenij was a financial manager at Mechel, the Russian metals and mining company.
Evgenij graduated from the University of Zurich with a Masters of Arts degree.
David Nietlispach, Portfolio Manager
David is responsible for Pala Assets’ research view on Eastern European, Asian and African fixed income markets from a top-down perspective. In addition, David manages the trading of Eastern European, Asian and African securities.
David has more than ten years of experience in the financial sector. Prior to joining Pala in 2012, David worked as a Senior Economist at Julius Baer with the responsibility for Fixed Income and currency recommendations for Eastern European economies. Moreover, his experience includes portfolio management, research and editor roles at UBS, the University of Zurich and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung.
David holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Zurich.
Alain Nydegger, Portfolio Manager
Alain is focusing on Latin American issuers and on investments in developed countries for Pala Assets. Moreover, Alain is responsible for the
trading of Latin American bonds.
Alain has eight years of experience in the financial sector. His trading and portfolio management experience includes instruments such as bonds, equities futures and options. Prior to joining Pala in 2013, Alain was an Institutional Sales at Bridport & Cie and before a Portfolio Manager at
Pictet & Cie, Banquiers.
Alain graduated from the HWZ University of Applied Science, Zurich, in Business Administration with a BBA.
Gergely Pálffy, CFA, Credit Analyst
Greg provides the bottom-up research for Eastern European, Asian and selected Latin American corporate corporates.
Greg has eight years of experience in bottom-up corporate valuations. Prior to joining Pala in early 2014, he worked as a sell-side equity analyst
at KBC Securities’ EM Europe Research Team. In 2006-2009, he worked in Boston, USA, as an equity analyst at a long-short global equity fund
at Parlin Investments and as a senior associate at Duff & Phelps.
Greg is a Chartered Financial Analyst and earned his Master’s degree in International Finance and Economics at Brandeis University, Boston, USA.
